Spring 2025 Driver’s Ed

Registration will begin December 11, 2024 at 9:00 a.m.

There is a limited number of spots and registration is a first come basis. Parents must register students for both classes: A Theory and a Driving Car Class.

The Spring semester of Driver Education is scheduled to begin on January 31, 2025, and conclude on June 9, 2025. 

This 16-week program includes 24 hours of classroom instruction AND 24 hours of driving instruction, with each student spending 6 hours behind the wheel. Additional driving practice outside of class is required by New York State.

Students must be 16 years of age with a valid New York State learners permit by the first day of class (both class and driving instruction).

Tuition is $725, $825 for non-residents. After the start of the semester, there will be no refunds.  Scholarships are available for students enrolled in the free or reduced lunch program. 

Attendance at all classes is mandatory. If attendance requirements are not fulfilled, a student will not be issued a certificate of completion and will not receive a refund. 

In-car driving lessons will be provided by Bell Auto Driving School. Each car will have four students per session.

Theory class will be either Tuesdays OR Thursdays.

Students who successfully complete the requirement for this non-credit course will receive a Student Certificate of Completion (MV285), which includes an insurance premium reduction certificate. After receiving the MV-285 and passing the road test students will then receive a class D license at 17.
